Duration: 4 weeks (One session per week, 2.5 hours each)

Elevate your sewing skills with our Ready to Wear Knit Cardigan designed for experienced sewists who have completed Sewing Basics Level 3 or equivalent. In this 4-week course, you’ll master the art of creating a perfectly fitted cardigan! From advanced sewing techniques and professional finishing, we’ve got you covered.

You’ll have access to our sewing machines, sergers and coverstitch machine, to achieve that polished, ready-to-wear look. The course includes the pattern, so you can focus on bringing your unique style to life. There are 3 patterns to choose from. Jalie 4242 or 3677 or the Lisa Cardigan from Seamwork.

Materials Required:

Basic Sewing Kit (Fabric scissors, seam ripper, tape measure, assorted hand sewing needles, straight pins with plastic head, metal hemming gauge)
Knit fabric and notions (including thread) for your cardigan–class discount of 15% on your purchases
Important: Fabric must be purchased, washed and dried before the first class. Please come into the shop to pick up your pattern to determine your fabric requirements.

Please note, there are no makeup dates available for this workshop, so be sure to attend each session.

Class Policy

Class Reminders: We do not send reminders, so please mark your calendar when you register. All classes are located on The Sewing Cafe premises at 118 Mill St., Georgetown, Ontario.

Class Cancellations: If we must cancel a class due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid and we will notify you as soon as possible.

Missed Classes:

Please ensure you can attend all classes in your session, as makeup classes are not offered and refunds are not provided for a missed class.

If you know in advance of your registration that you cannot make a class, sometimes with advanced notice we can make an exception. This isn’t always possible and needs to be arranged prior to your registration.

Refund Policy: Due to our limited class sizes, we kindly request that any cancellations be made with at least two weeks' notice before the scheduled class start date. This ensures we have the opportunity to offer your spot to another student.

Full Refund: A full refund will be provided if cancellation is made at least two weeks before the class start date.
Store Credit: If cancellation is made between two weeks and 48 hours before the class, we will apply a store credit to your account for use toward any future class.
Last-Minute Cancellations: For cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance, payment will be forfeited unless we can fill your spot. While we will make every effort to do so, we cannot guarantee the spot will be filled on short notice. If we successfully fill your spot, you will receive a full refund.
No Call/No Show: If you don’t attend a class you are registered for and you don’t let us know you won’t be attending, your payment will be forfeited, as we had to pay the instructor for their time to be there.
