Finished quilt is approximately 42" x 54".
During this class you will learn the important foundational skills of accurate cutting, accurate piecing and accurate pressing. With this solid foundation, you will be able to assemble, layer, quilt and bind your quilt with quality results.
The following will be taught during class:
- Week 1 - Cutting and Piecing the 9 Patch Blocks
- Week 2 - Assembling a quilt top
- Week 3 - Layering
- Week 4 - Machine Quilting
- Week 5 - Binding
You will need to bring to class:
- Rotary cutter
- 6" x 24" or 6.5" x 24" or 8 ½” x 24” ruler
- Awl
- Seam Ripper
- Coordinating thread
- Perfect Baste Spray (week 3 for layering)
Fabrics Requirements:
You may choose to purchase our Daisies and Duckies Quilt Kit or choose your own fabrics. If you are choosing your own fabrics, you will need:
- Fabric A (Assorted big squares): 6, 7 ½” strips of assorted fabrics for the large squares
- Fabric B (Daisy in 9 patch): 0.75 m
- Fabric C (Background of 9 patch): 0.65 m
- Binding: 0.4m
- Batting: 50” x 60” minimum
- Backing:
- Directional 42” fabric - 3 m
- OR Non directionals 42”: fabric - 2.5 m
- OR 108” Wideback - 1.3 m
Suitable for the Confident beginner quilter who is comfortable with sewing machine operations like threading a machine, wind bobbin, select stitches, changing the needle (a great first quilt!). This is an ideal place to practice nesting your seams to achieve well aligned points.
The price of the class includes the pattern. Note that Fabrics, batting and thread sold separately.

Homework must be done between classes. If you do not have access to a sewing machine, you can book time in our classroom for $15 per hour.
There are no makeup classes scheduled for this workshop, please ensure you are able to come to each one.
