Turn your treasured t-shirts into a one-of-a-kind memory quilt! In this three-week workshop, you’ll transform a collection of meaningful shirts into a custom quilt top that tells your story. Every t-shirt quilt is completely unique, making it both a creative and sentimental project.
You’ll need a minimum of 25 t-shirts to participate.
What we’ll cover:

Week 1: Quilt design & preparing your t-shirts

Week 2: Cutting and constructing the quilt blocks

Week 3: Assembling the quilt top
This workshop focuses on completing the quilt top only. Once finished, you may choose to layer and quilt your project at home or send it out for longarm quilting.
If you’d like support with layering, machine quilting, or binding, we recommend registering for Quilting with Catherine or the Layering Bee.
What to bring:

A collection of t-shirts you wish to use

Rotary cutter
-
Cutting ruler (Long rectangle + Large square would be VERY helpful)

Pins

Seam ripper
-
Scissors
-
Marking chalk or fabric pens (a couple of colours recommended)

Sufficient Shapeflex 101 interfacing to stabilize your t-shirts

(This will be applied in class after your design is finalized.)
If you have a specific fabric in mind for sashing or borders, feel free to bring it along. Otherwise, please wait until after the design discussion before purchasing fabrics.
Important notes:

As custom Quilt Design work is required, some quilting experience is required. This class is suitable for quilters who have completed at least once quilt.

Due to the custom nature of t-shirt quilt design, attendance at all three sessions is required. No makeup classes are available.

There will be homework between sessions to complete your quilt top.
