6 Week Duration. Suitable for the beginner quilter who has operated a sewing machine before (Basic operations like threading a machine, wind bobbin, select stitches, change the needle) or has completed Sewing Basics Level 1. Some sewing experience is required before you start quilting.

Woodland Cozy is a great project for beginner quilters looking to build their foundational quilting skills. Throughout the class, you’ll learn accurate cutting, piecing, block assembly, appliqué, layering, machine quilting, and binding as you work your way through the quilt from start to finish.

More experienced quilters will also enjoy how quickly and easily this striking quilt comes together!

The Woodland Cozy pattern is included with your class fee.

Week 1 - Cutting, piecing and pressing blocks

Week 2 - Assembling the quilt top

Week 3 - Applique (your choice of freezer paper or fusible methods)

Week 4 - Layering

Week 5 - Machine Quilting

Week 6 - Binding

You will need to bring to class:

• Rotary cutter
• 6" x 24" or 6.5" x 24" or 8.5 ”x 24” ruler
• Seam Ripper
• Coordinating thread
• Awl
• Basting Spray, batting and backing for week 4

Fabric Options

Choose the look that suits you! You can purchase a Woodland Cozy quilt kit from The Sewing Cafe or select your own fabrics to create a completely unique version.

If you’d like to choose your own fabrics, stop by the shop to pick up your pattern before class and we’ll be happy to review the fabric requirements with you.

Homework must be done between classes. If you do not have access to a sewing machine, you can book time in our classroom for $15 per hour.
