Every summer, the kids get to enjoy Summer Camp at The Sewing Cafe. After hearing plenty of "What about us?", we created Adult Quilt Camp—a chance for grown-ups to spend a few afternoons sewing, learning, and enjoying the company of fellow quilters while getting out of the heat.
This year's project is Jack's Chain, one of Tammy's quilting bucket list quilts! If you've mastered quilting with accurate ¼" seams and are ready to take your piecing to the next level, this camp is for you.

What You'll Learn
Jack's Chain is known for its striking design and its use of Y-seams. During camp, you'll learn the techniques needed to confidently construct this classic quilt, including:

Sewing accurate Y-seams

Precision piecing techniques

Using the guide line on your quilting foot to know exactly where to start and stop each seam

Tips for matching points and creating clean intersections
- Using the AccuQuilt cutter to reduce cutting time and increase accurancy in piecing

Building confidence with one of quilting's most useful advanced techniques
This project does require accurate piecing, so participants should already be comfortable sewing consistent ¼" seams. If you've completed a quilt or two and are looking for a fun challenge, this is the perfect next step.
Skill Level
Intermediate Quilter
Participants should:

Be comfortable using their sewing machine independently.

Have experience making quilts with accurate ¼" seam allowances.

Be excited to learn Y-seams and precision piecing.
- Be ready to complete the quilt on their own after class ends, this class is just to make sure you are comfortable and have the skills necessary to complete this. We are adding times to our Secret Stitchy Sewciety if you like to come work on things in community.
Materials
Please bring:

Stitch ripper (just in case)
- Small pair of scissors

If completing a twin quilt, as least three meters of your backing fabric.
- 8" of scrap fabrics that are at least 1.5" wide in an assortment of colours, or let us know and we can put together a kit for class of the coloured fabrics used in the example photos.
