Fosshape 300 is often called the “buckram replacement” — a unique, felt-like synthetic fabric that becomes rigid, structured, and sculptable when activated with heat. A long-time favourite among cosplayers, it’s perfect for masks, armor pieces, millinery, puppetry, props, and any project that needs lightweight shaping and durability.
This 45" (114 cm) wide material is mildew-resistant, dyeable, and cuts cleanly with scissors without fraying. You can sew it to itself or to other fabrics as an internal stiffener, or shape it into a standalone structure. Once heated, it bonds to itself, allowing you to layer pieces without visible stitching.
Fosshape can be activated with a fabric steamer (the most commonly preferred method), but a steam iron or industrial hot-air gun also works well. Adjusting heat, time, and pressure allows you to control the level of stiffness. Two layers of Fosshape 300 can even be bonded to approximate the heft of Fosshape 600, making it extremely versatile for lighter or more intricate designs.
Ideal for:
Cosplay (masks, armor, accessories)
Costuming and theatrical work
Millinery and headpieces
Puppetry and craftwork
Props, sculpture, and set design

…and so much more.
