Janome Embroidery 101

Join us Friday, September 11, 2026, from 10:00am–3:00pm for a fun, hands-on day of machine embroidery with the experts from Janome!

New to embroidery? Or just want a better understanding of the basics? This class is a great place to start. You’ll make an in-the-hoop zippered pouch while learning the essentials of machine embroidery, including:

• Choosing and using stabilizers
• Understanding embroidery threads
• Basic design editing
• Troubleshooting common problems
• Tips and techniques to help you get better results

Bring nothing but your questions—and a lunch if you’d like. Your machine and everything you need for the project will be provided.

Please note: This class will be held in our upstairs classroom, so stairs are required.

Lunch & Snacks

We’ll take an hour for lunch and shopping. We’ll have some light snacks to share, such as hummus and veggies, cheese and crackers.

There are also several great lunch options nearby. Our local cheese shop makes amazing sandwiches, and we can check out their selection that morning and arrange to have one held for you to pick up at lunchtime if you’d like.

If you have a severe food allergy, please let us know at least 3 days in advance so we can do our best to avoid bringing those foods into the classroom.
